It’s hard not to think about my golf swing as I’m sitting next to my gorgeous wife poolside at this spectacular ocean-side hotel in Rhodes. However, with some of the most famous holes in golf like Duel in the Sun, the Postage Stamp, Hogan’s Alley, and the Road Hole in my near future, I can’t help but think about the importance of making a good shoulder turn and finishing towards my target. I’m really torn. We have just spent 10 days in 85 degree weather in some of the most beautiful and ancient places in the world. Athens, Kileada, Santorini, and Rhodes are all, in their own way, on par with the most impressive sites in Italy and the most beautiful beaches in Thailand. And I’m about to board a plane to head to Scotland, which averages 55 degrees and cloudy each day… if we’re lucky.
But I shouldn’t complain. I’m about to spend 9 days with some of my best friends in the world playing one of the greatest games ever invented on some of the best venues in existence. It’s a trip of a lifetime, and I can already feel the energy building back in the states. We’ve been trading emails constantly over tee time bookings, caddy reservations, accommodations (thanks to Jeff and Dave for putting 99% of this together), inflated handicaps, dress codes, and whether the President of Taylor Made EU has any clout. It’s infectious. I think I need another whisky just to get ready…
